Join our all-volunteer team
Wake Relief is looking for volunteers for the following shifts:
Mondays, 12:30 p.m. to 3:15 p.m.
Tuesdays, 12:30 p.m. to 3:15 p.m.
Wednesdays, 9:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
4th Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
Responsibilities include stocking shelves, shopping with clients and helping clients to their cars with groceries. The team concludes the day by restocking shelves, taking out garbage and making sure that tomorrow’s team is ready to serve our community. Typical commitment is one time per month although many enjoyed it enough to do it two times a month. We’re a family and we love working together!

What do volunteers do?
Volunteers assist clients with shopping, stock pantry shelves, carry groceries to cars, and help with donation pickups.
When do volunteers serve?
We have volunteer teams that serve once a month on Mondays, Tuesdays, or Wednesdays for a 3-hour shift. Pickup volunteers serve on a more flexible schedule. We ask that our volunteers are able to volunteer at least once a month.
Do I need to volunteer every week?
Nope! Most teams serve once a month. We’ll work with your availability.
What are the physical requirements?
Most roles involve standing, walking, and light to moderate lifting (like grocery bags). Some pickup roles require lifting boxes and driving a truck or SUV.
Is training provided?
Yes! We’ll show you everything you need to know before your first shift.
